Need some help ASAP on my Wifes 99 Pathy and seen your site had a good size member list...and thought maybe you could help a brother out...
A security guard where my wife works thought he'd be a nice guy and jump start her truck...What he did was screw things all up by reversing the connections....not good.... my wife said the sparks went flying all over when he hooked it up...I could tell something heavy went down by all the Brass stuck on ther Pos terminal...
Anyway...Had it towed home and here's where I am....It was completely dead with a new battery installed...no lights, horn, nada???....Noticed the 100 amp fuse in the main distribution box was blown...Replaced that and now have all lights, etc back...BUT...all it will do is crank?? So this morning I started testing and here I am....
Have spark and a shot of starting fluid will fire it up.. This was a good sign..
I tested the fuel system and it has power to the pump and fuel is flowing up to the rail/inj and back...
I check the fusuble links in the distribution box and they appear fine..
I get no power to the injectors with a test light nor do I hear them clicking with a stethoscope...No one local had a test noid so I used a test light..should show the same thing...power
So.....Here my question...I have the factory security system....Is there a "reset" somewhere under the dash on the drivers side?? I read that this morning somewhere..
I would like to put that one tp bed before I move on testing....
Do these have a TFI module on the dizzy?? I looks like it does and I know those can dictate when the injectors get told to fire???
Any help or ideas where to test next would be great and appreciated....I'm just hoping it didnt pop the puter..
