I have a used 2005 Pathfinder and when I shift into 4H and start out, I get a binding noise when I first start out. I can feel it "klunk" in the front of the vehicle. I only get it when I'm starting out around 10 or 15 mph. I'm not a "car" guy, so I thought I would ask for advice here before I go to the dealership.

Which model Pathfinder do you have? Also are you putting it in 4H from park or neutral? It sounds like it's just trying to get the front diff synced up. A few people have said it takes a little bit, before actually engaging. So before you go into the mud make sure it's already in 4wd. You can ask the dealer to check it, since you are probably still under warranty.

i know this may sound dumb, but simple things first. make sure that the tires are not spinning. the front and rear tires should be traveling the same speed.
