Sears 2 ton Aluminum Jack?

Anyone have this or know anything about it? It's on sale this week and I'm thinking about picking one up.

Sears.com

All 5 reviews say don't buy this jack but can it really be that bad?

Your link goes to sears tools section. I search but did not find the jack your inquiring about.
Except: " Craftsman Miniature Model Aluminum Racing Jack" which is a toy.

Try the link again. It didn't work when I clicked on it but then I tried it again and it worked.

If not, click on tools and then Mechanics Tools and then Lift Equipment and then Type ->Floor Jacks. It should be the 4th from the bottom in the list.

I'd say listen to the reviews and buy one from Harbor Freight instead. Your link doesn't work because it's cookie-based. YOU have the cookie it works with, WE do not. That's why the link doesn't work for anyone else.

If it is like the one I got from Sam's.....they all look simmlar..It is a good jack but it is a rapid lift...(fewer pumps to lift)...it takes some energy to lift the truck...It feels like I will break the handle..... and it doesn't go up enough to properly drain the oil....

I have never heard of this brand. Do you have one? It looks a lot like the Sears jack. I wonder if they are made by the same manufacture.

Harbor Freight is a retailer of low priced tools. I do not suggest them.

As far as the jack from Sears (pn 0950239), you can get similar types cheaper, but I do not know what retail stores you have there. Costco? Sams? Myself, I don't care for the "speedy lift" and "rapid lift" type service jacks. They are as Calimoxo2 described and in my experience they have not lasted. Shop around and compare first.

Use jack stands and work safely. Z

Thanks for the info.

Costco has one, so I'm going to go and look at that one today.

Just came back from Costco. Don't waste your time. It's very cheesy looking and I would not trust it.

It's $99 so for another $50 the one at Sears is a better buy.

Harbor Freight may sell cheap tools, but they work fine. I've had a floor jack from there for four years now with no problems.

I'd be careful with any cheapo 2-ton aluminum jacks out there. I had a friend who had one break similar to this floor jack comparo (see page 2). I have an 3 year old cheapo steel Larin (as seen in article) and it started bleeding off hydraulic pressure while under load after the first year...which is pretty sorry. I still have it and have used the hell out of it but wish I had spent alittle more money on a quality one. Your choice though.

Dropping an aluminum jack will probably fracture it, then under load it will break. Also why aluminum? are you going backpacking with it?

I don't have a garage so I will be taking it in and out of the house, plus I don't plan on ever dropping it

You guys are missing the point. I'm talking about the saddle area, not the general structure. Just make sure its fully supported by the base of the saddle when jacking something and not the side at all.
