Snow Tire Safety: In Ukraine

Hi!
I own a 2003 4WD Pathfinder SE. I'm running on all season radials 255/65R16.

I have Bridgestone Blizzak DM Z3 snow tires sized 245/70R16 already mounted on appropriate rims.

My question: Can I run these tires safely?

Using an online tire size comparison calculator, they show to have a 1.56% diameter difference.

I live overseas in an area that usually has`fairly cold and snowy winters. So far the winter here has been more like this year in New York not Colorado. Its dry now and 35-40degrees. But this place has a history of a lot of snow. Last year it was ALOT colder and there were a bunch of snowstorms.

Road conditions here are pretty bad. City roads are uneven and bumpy.

I bought the snow tires before moving here from a major online store. Now I'm having second thoughts about mounting them - mainly because I'm concerned about the size difference. Also, I've read that using mud/snow tires on dry pavement is not good.

Should I be concerned or should I just mount them expecting snow?

Thanks,
Ryan

Hi & welcome. I've been near the Ukraine and they do get dumped on by snow. But anyhow, lots of people use snow tire during the winter months. In Germany you must swap your tires out for winter/summer.

The difference between the two sets of tires will not make a noticeable difference in anything on your vehicle aside from being better in the snow. 1.56% difference is NOTHING.
