Just wondering if anyones check engine light has come on or if there even is one. I know my charge light didn't come on when my alternator died. Just curious.

Also, where is the scanner connector interface at on a 95 3.0L ? Thanks.

The CEL should come on when you turn on the key for a few seconds to let you know it works.

There is no connector on a 95, it's pre-OBDII. You have to check engine codes by using the ECU under the passenger's side seat. There's a pinned post at the top of the forum on how to check the codes.

Its also common that when the regulator goes on the alt, that the light wont go on. If the alt. itself wont produce current then the light will go on.

The check engine light comes on in response to fuel injection/emission problems. The alternator and oil and temperature light/gauges are for more mundane problems.

But, if it doesn't come on when the ignition is on and before you start your engine, then the light is bad - could be a bulb - or something less mundane . . .
