Suspension upgrades?

I’m looking to make a few suspension upgrades. Basically I would like to improve the cornering characteristic by having less body roll. Has anyone upgraded the sway bar bushings and noticed any difference? I was thinking about adding urethane bushings too see if that would reduce body roll. Would that be enough or would I have to replace the bars with better ones to feel any difference.
Is there a sway bar in the back of an 03 Pathfinder?

I think he wants you to look for the rear sway bar on your pathfinder... rather than to ask on the forum if you have one or not.

Oh, I though he was just being a Wise Ass!

There is a straight bar that runs along the rear diff but I don't know if that is the sway bar or something else. It doesn't look like any other sway bar that I have seen and since this is my first pathfinder and this is a "Nissan Forum", I figured I could ask a simple question but I guess maybe I was asking too much.....

you can ask simple questions just be prepared for 88pathoffroad's grumpyness (not your typical moderator) and tcrote's humor (ahem, ahem).

sounds like a sway bar to me, but i'm far from an expert.

according to my 98-01 hayne's manual, our paths do have a front and rear 'stabilizer bar'

the illustration shows a link attachment right around the muffler with one bolt and another attached by two bolts to the...axle? looks like the axle, though it's hard to tell in the pic and i'm not sure that would make sense. it's too windy to go check outside right now.

Yeah, that's probably the bar that I have seen but it sounds like it's considered a Stabilizer bar and not and anti-sway bar. I don't see how it would prevent body roll the way it is setup.

I'll post a picture this weekend and see if anyone can shed some light...

A stabilizer bar IS a swaybar. Different name, same thing.

I just get tired of people asking questions about simple things that can be resolved by looking for yourself, is all. Kinda like this post...oh look, it was a popped light bulb after all! http://www.nissanforums.com/pathfind...ake-light.html

And no, the owner's manual is not in my glove box, it's on the floor in my computer room cause I was looking though it for something a while ago.

To answer your original question, If you still have the factory shocks, you might want to replace them. I put Rancho RSX17000 on mine and it stiffened up the ride nicely without giving a rough ride. The rear doesn't sway in turns near as bad. The factory shocks are pretty soft.

Thanks for the info.

Did you change all 4 or just the rear?

OMG, I need to step away, to wipe the tears... HAHAHA

88, you should have a PDF of the owner's manual on your computer, and put the hard copy back in the truck...

pathfinder100: urethane bushings will stiffen the ride a bit - especially if the current bushings are worn.
