Pathfinder wants to fall on its face on acceleration

Hello All and Happy Thanksgiving week!

Heres the deal. I have a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder SE. I recently replace the timing belt and water pump. My vehicle want to fall on its face on acceleration, now it does seem to drive fine wants it gets to 1800-2000 RPMS. This thig idles fine and accelerates when in park fine, no backfires or misses. Also It shift hard from 1st to 2nd. Is my tranny going bad or is this a other issue?

Any thoughts here would be greatly appreciated!

Well aside from the obvious, recheccking your cam/crank timing (which is a pain in the ass as you know) I would start with all of the vaccume lines you disconnected during the change. Though it should affect your idle, it might not if it seals well and only opens a gap when there is a load on the engine and it twists. I would pay close attn to the PCV line that runs across the front of the engine (just above the timing belt cover)and meets under the air intake tube (its hard to see and hard to get a good seal on). This provides positive crankcase vaccume and would cause the above problem. Good luck

Thank you I will check that out. I know that aligning the cams and crankshaft is a pain( i had to do it 5 times) but when i got a second set of hands all went a lot smoother.

if it shifts hard and if it is a new situation, sme wires to sensors such that dvdwatson suggest could be disconencted. my car cas running on LPG when i bought it second hand, and when using n gasoline it made roblmes on shifting geras. i removed all parts of LPG system and it returned back to normal. These cars are sensitive to electrical connection problems...
