Pathfinder Trailer Hitches that are flush to the bumper?

Hello Everyone! I have an '03 Pathfinder that I want to put a trailer hitch on. However, I am specifically looking for one that does NOT hang out past the bumper (in an effort to save my shins). Has anyone had any luck in finding these? If so, please let me know where I find order one (make, model, etc).

Thanks!

Apparently no one ever told you the first two primary purposes of a trailer hitch and draw bar are to:
1 - Hook a strap onto so you can be pulled out
2 - Keep others off your bumper

My drawbar is painted hunter orange and sticks out a long way.
People do not follow too close. Never figured that out.

Third and fourth specific purposes of a hitch and drawbar:
3 - To pull a trailer
4 - Take off your kneecaps

Pure and simple!
Now, wasn't that an elegant explanation?

Now for the real answer, the drawbar/hitch pin has to be where you can get to it easy if you wish to remove the drawbar from the hitch. If the hitch face is flush, the pin is buried at least 3 inches under the bumper where it is hard to get to. If you move a drawbar mounted winch from the front to the rear, it is a real pain to dig under the bumper and remove.replace the pin.

I apologize for the flaky attempt at comedy but could not resist it.

Best of Luck...Littlefish

Maybe it's too early in the morning, but I have yet to find a solution in your email.

I do not mind having to struggle to get the insert/remove the pin for the drawbar underneathy my rear bumper as I only tow a few times a year, as compared to the daily struggle of taking off my kneecaps.

What am I missing?

Thanks,
Chris

Sorry you misunderstood me. I was assuming you used it on a regular basis. There is a company called Hidden Hitch. Go to Google and type in Hidden Hitch. You will get all the shops out there that handle the hitch. However, the Hidden hitch platforms generally have the ball several inches lower due to the design that allows the hitch to be completely under the bumper. Best of Luck...Littlefish

Ive never seen a bumper for the pathys that dont stick out, I've owned both the Nissan hitch, and the Hidden Hitch and they both stick out. Littlefish does have a point though, I know a lot of people who have been saved from a schmucked up back bumper b/c of their hitch. I also used to stand on mine to get the snow off my roof!

Generally you wont find this product for a damn good reason. Those couple of inches are needed to allow the trailor to properly articulate. If the ball is set under the bumper, there is little length to allow any turning radius withought destroying the corners of your trailer and the corners of your truck. I dont see the problem of a hidden hitch where the square tube is flush with the bumper, and when you need to pull a trailer you slide in your hitch (and watch your knees (if you really have that much of a problem walking into stationary objects)) and go on your way. Just my 2cents.

I say if you have that much trouble with depth perception, that you walk into the hitch on a regular basis, then you might not want to be pulling a trailer, or at least let us know when and were you will be pulling it so we can keep our pathfinders off the road.
