Shock suggestions for a 96

Any suggestions. Also, will I have to get an alignment after I do the front?

Assuming when you say "do the front" you're simply talking about the shocks I can't see why an alignment would be necessary. If you mean that you are replacing other front end components, an alignment might be a good idea.

As for shock suggestions - others may have better insight here. Although I imagine it would be somewhat dependent on what kind of driving you do (i.e off road???).

I bought Monroe Reflex for a 98 LE, and am very pleased. The car is in Mexico where the roads are not wonderful - lots of potholes etc., and these shocks do the job well and the ride is still good. Even with a car full of people, at high speed on curves, its perfect.

go with a premium gas shock like Monroe or Bilstein, stay away from the offroad shocks like Rancho, Superlift, etc. go to consumer reports and look at shocks for you vehicle preferably gentle ride ones, unless you want a stiff ride then go with the offroad shocks.
