This may be a silly question... are the lamps good??

If the lamps are good then meter the wires from the socket back.

Tip: don't use the chassis ground because if it's a bad ground wire you wouldn't be able to tell... it'll just confuse you.

It could be the head light relay which may be under the hood ( if I recall )

good luck.

check out the RH / LH relay terminals 1 - 3 located in the fuse and fusible link box. Also have a check on the fuse 15a & 7.5A in the junction box. And run thru the body grounding of the terminals ( E13 & E41 ) whether they are done properly for the headlamps. Normally the combination switch for the headlamps has a whole gamut of connections to operate induvidually on the high and low beams control. cheers

the fuses are located beside the battery in the relay fuse box should be labeled left head lamp right head lamp. Don't understand why all 4 lamps are out high and low wiring problem or bad switch is a good possibility

Oh, and there is no relay for the headlights, high or low. Just so you know.

Now you aren't clear if the high beams work or not... which I'm guessing they're not.

Also were there any modifications done ... fog lights added ??

If both the low and high lamps are not working and you're sure the switch is 100% and the two 15 amp fuses are good , likely its the black ground lines common to both is the problem.

If the highs work and it's just the low, check the R/B wire ( right ) and R/G wire ( left ) for power.

The power routing is :

- W/R wire is battery supply to two 15 amp fuses at fuse block

- R and R/W wires from the two fuses go to the light switch
...hopefully the colors haven't changed...

With your vintage there are no relays for the headlamps , the L/H and R/H relays were introduced on later versions.

I guess i missed this part " With your vintage there are no relays for the headlamps , the L/H and R/H relays were introduced on later versions." U r right buddy, this are for later models. According to my belief, the wiring system is very simple and straightforward once the wiring diagram and the color codes are available. The rotary light switch plays the role of a hub to the electrical system . I guess u need to recheck the terminals of the rotary switch and its entirety.
