91 Path trans problem

Hope I can get ya'lls help. I'm military (Air Force) stationed in Germany and my 91 pathfinder just stoped shifting. No matter what gear you put it in, you get nothing. There was no sign of problems before this, just come to a stop and when I tried to take off nothing. The trans was rebuilt around 150,000 miles by the previous owner,it now has about 198,000 on it. The fluid level was good and flushed just after I bough it (172,000miles). I've dropped the pan and there are no signs of failure there. Any one have any idea's? What should I check for if I pull the trans out?

I'm guessing Ramstein, anyhow. Have you verified that the linkage is actually shifting the transmission? How about a receipt for the previous work (warranty)?

I think you would be guessing (and me to) without running it through a test. I know you will be hard pressed to find an auto tranny shop in Germany, but they are there.

No Spangdahlem, yea I've verified that the linkage is shifting. I have the pan off now and can see the linkage moving back and forth inside. Didn't find any pieces of medal or any thing in the pan just the common metal paste you find on the magnet. The paste looks a little heavier than it should be but not by much. I was just hoping that some one would have a couple of ideas to check before I pull the tranny out, that's going to be a pain. I'll probably give a shot at rebuilding it my self, I've hear it's real expensive to have one rebuild around here. I'm not going to put a lot of money into it even though it's a nice truck with not other problem. I'll be heading back to the good ol' US in Sept and don't see a needed in wasting a lot of money.
