97 pathfinder P1445 EVAP code

Having issue with P1445 - Purge Volume Control Valve. Replaced the valve, blew out all the vacuum lines none had charcoal in them. Can't clear code.

Code came up after replacing a belt pully which was squeaking. Checked to be sure vacuum hoses are correct and can't find any cuts in them.

I'm pulling my hair out on this one.

hang in there

Keep on driving it. After at least three normal drive cycles it should reset on its own, if your are lucky. Good luck. Oh btw, how is your gas cap? Sometimes a new one works in this case...

Gas cap might be the cause of a EVAP small leak, but not for a EVAP error for the purge control valve.

The code should clear itself, the drive cycles do take a while to pass. You could also unhook the battery to clear them, or use the diagnostic mode selector screw on the ECU to clear them.

I cleared them with Code reader but they came back. I got the FSM and am working through the diagnostic steps today.

For code P1445 the following are associated to this :

-EVAP control system pressure sensor
-EVAP cannister purge volume control valve ( the valve is stuck open )
-EVAP purge control valve
-Hoses ( if they are connected incorrectly )
- connectors ( have water or corroded )

Seems like a strange coincidence after repairing belt pulley ( which one ? ) issue. Anything is possible when it comes to vehicles.

I think the mechanic has some hoses installed wrong as the code showed up right after getting it back from the pulley repair. If not the Pressure sensor could be bad. I got the FSM pages for the code error and they have that to go by now to get it right working through that step by step. Should be worked out in the next couple of days I hope.
