Yes, you were correct. And adding to that, the truck was on a street which I later found out is often site for abandoned cars (due to easy parking, lots of traffic and no parking restrictions). What helped me is the once a month street cleaning no parking!!

Ironically as I was cleaning the car I found a lock pick kit for $6.99 that seemed purchased for the occasion....I ended up with 3/4 of the elements (various shapes..).

Hey, I have a wrecked 90 nissan pathfinder that i am going to junk after I pull the engine. (It was rebuilt prior to the accident) If you need any parts to fix yours.

I am in Manteca, Ca

Yea you might want to not carry that with you. You can get arrested for carrying "burglary tools". Be careful when cleaning recovered cars, because they may contain uncapped needles between the seats and other hiding areas.

Also might be a good idea to put a remote kill switch somewhere.
