03 Pathfinder Humming Noise

Hello,

My 03 Pathy SE has developed a humming noise, seems to be coming from the rear at about 40-55mph. Noise goes away if I take my foot off gas pedal. Noise happens going uphill, flat and downhill. Dealer claimed that an exhaust piece was loose and they tightened it. The noise is still there and very easy to hear. Before I take it back to the dealer, any suggestion?

BTW: Pathy has roughly 46K miles on it. Nissan Certified.

Is this the classic rear end whine? My 2000 PF LE started this at 30K mi. The 2003 LE with 41K makes the same pitched noise but not as loud. Or maybe my hearing is not as good. LOL

Fresh D/U oil might silence the gears. I just used Lucas oil in mine....3 qts to fill it up

If it's 2wd could be the propeller shaft center bearing otherwise could be the rear diff.
