Slight engine tick while accelarating

I have a 02 pathfinder. In the cool morning after startup, my engine has a slight tick while accelarating. I use regular unleaded. Is the fuel choice causing the problem?

Ps. 57k on the engine

My old 89 Raider V6 used to do that. but that's cause I was using 20w50 oil all year round. I've switched to 5w30 for the cold season, and it doesn't do it anymore. Your lifters are just having a little trouble moving the oil, cause it's still thick and dense, once it gets warm, it will thin a bit and you'll be ok. It's not hurting anything, just give it a few more minutes to warm up.

Be aware! My '03 Pathfinder used to do this until one morning, the ticking/knocking did not stop. It turns out that 3 screws "fell out" of my intake manifold. Now I am waiting for the part to be repaired. Does anyone know if this is even possible without some kind of manipulation of the screws and if it has happened alot?

Its just the hydrolic lifters, pretty common no big deal, try a thinner oil, that will help, but its common with the majority of engines that are drivin "cold". The best way to get rid of it is to turn up the stereo :-)

I also have an 02 that has the ticking you mention. I used to think it was because I was putting a load on it driving uphill first thing in the morning. FWIW, I use 91 octane and always have per the manual. Also, I have 110K on mine.

Hopefully it's not the infamous exhaust manifold issue.

On an 02? doubt it, there would be other symptoms if it was.
