1994 Nissan Pathfinder Q's?

My brother just bought a 1994 Pathfinder XE 4x4. The search function wasn't helping me so, I was wondering if I can get some info off you guys. Does is have a LSD or is it a one wheel wonder? What size gears? Was it even an option? Also, any "free mods" available for this? BTW, he picked the truck up for $3000, 131K, metallic red on red interior, with an auto. Pics can be found here.. My new winter beater (pics inside) - Brew City Muscle

Thanks for helping a newbie out!!

Brian

look at the door sticker, that will tell you what gears it has something like HG43 or HG46 possibly, as far as being LSD or not, look at the rear pumpkin to see if there is a metal tag on one of the bolts for the 3rd member or diff cover, if there a tag it has a LSD.

It has either 4.375 or 4.625 gears. The underhood tag will tell you under "axle code", either HG43 or HG46. Jack up the back end and give one wheel a spin. If both turn the same direction, you have LSD. If only one spins or the opposite tire spins the opposite direction, you have an open diff. The LSD-equipped axles came with a little orange sticker on the back of the center section of the axle that says "Use LSD gear oil only", but they don't always stay put.

Define "free mods".

Should have a LSD in the rear, auto hubs in the front.

They ALL came with auto hubs and the LSD was a purchase option upon ordering, so any Pathfinder can have an LSD if it was ordered that way. Lots of mixing and matching going on out there.
