Looking to purchase/lease 05 Pathfinder SE w 15K miles. $25K sticker.
Is there anything I should be on the lookout for?
Model in question has:
-Minor body damage. Dealer will repair
-Non-working passenger side mirror
-Excessive wear on brake pedal rubber
-Engine seems noisy
-Power steering seems a bit sluggish
What options does the SE have like Premium or Comfort Packages? Are the tires in good shape. If you are concerned about engine noise, compare it to a new pathy or have a trusted mechanic check it out. That price seems a little high for a used SUV but that may depend on where you live.
Check out kbb.com or edmunds.com and decribe the truck and they will give you trade-in, private party, and dealer retail prices. Good Luck!

I'd shop around for another. This one you're looking may have more problems down the road. I always avoid first year changes as some bugs still have to be worked out.
If you really intend to buy this one, look for rust stains around the chrome at the license plate area. Ask them to repair the side mirror, unless there's obvious sign of abuse or accident. That's all I can think of for now.
I don't know if I'd be concerned about any of these issues, as long as you are willing to deal with them. To the previous point, at $25k, I'd work on the price a little.
On engine noise, ask whether the intake manifold was replaced per the TSB, curing the VAIS issue, if it was built before Jan '05. Otherwise, the engine noise may just be more than you're used to. The Pathfinder engine is not quiet, but it should not sound abnormally grating/grinding.
On the power steering, I will note that the Pathfinder's steering is a little more stiff than most cars/SUV's. It takes slightly more effort than you might expect.
I would bet that for a couple of grand more for an 06, you will save just as much in financing because its a brand new truck. I wouldn't spend $25gs unless it was MINT!

I paid about an extra $1300 for a brand new 06 over a used 06 Pathfinder. The used 06 was an American model brought up from Washington state. The used model had 15000 miles on it. It also came with an SE w/Premium Package, but didn't have the side curtains like the Canadian SE model does.
hmm what the hell is wrong with that pathfinder, have you driven a new one to compare?
Mine is an 05 built in january purchased new and i put 20k miles on it and it drives exactly (+rattles) the same as when i first bought it with the steering and such
