What could possibly be causing a moderatly loud mouse-like squeak coming from under the drivers side dash and around that area every time a hit a pretty large pot hole?...It's driving me to the point of not sleeping at night because i can't figure out what it is.I'm hearing this squeak in my dreams guys.!..Please help.!..Peace

solution to that is avoid those large pot holes... just kidding. i have my own eeks and squeaks in my 06 Pathy also. don't let it get to you...just turn the radio up...that is what i do.

after time vehicles make squeaks, you could pull the whole dash apart and tighten all the nuts and still not find it and create more squeaks, unfortunately you either deal with it or start pulling the dash apart til you find the squeak. are you sure its in the dash and not in the engine compartment on the firewall.

I'm pretty sure it's inside..I have pulled some of the dash and cable tied all the loose dangling wires, rubber line, etc..but still hasn't helped it...It's sounds like it's right on the steering column...??

squeaks will be metal on metal, or hard plastic (like trim pieces) on metal

Ok i had this squeek on my first 95 pathy, the noise on mine was on the steering column and it was the two pieces of plastic covering that enclose the column, there is a spot on the right side towards the bottom that has a little snap together point that seems to come apart a little and it caused that squeek. If you dont know what I'm talking about just ask me to send you a picture of it. I know how annoying that was so i hope you can find it.

Our '92 has a similar high-pitched metallic squeek up high behind the dash on the drivers side. I am assuming something has just worked it's way loose over the past 14 yrs of use. I've avoided tearing too deeply into the dash to find it. This usually just results in more squeeks from loose dash parts and fasteners...

Sure did and it stopped..I took that steering column part apart, some of it on the inside is broken, the holes where the screws go in..I put some bigger screws in that..It's now pretty sturdy, but here the weird part I drove it with no change..The squeak was still there..Then, just out of no where i decided to cable tie my hood grill covers..those little plastic things on top of the hood..They were loose because..Now it's doesn't squeak...Peace..

WD-40 is amazing stuff in an older car/truck - spray it EVERYWHERE there's anything that joins together, or in any moving part - use the tube extension and stick that into everwhere it'll go - up under the dash, spray all the levers and cables - the acellerator cables and springs, down into the parking brake assembly, into the locks, into the electical switches, into all hinges, into the radio controls when its off and let it dry awhile, - everywhere. I use a half a can or so if it every couple of years. As a result, few squeaks, stuff like levers and knobs slide better and smoother. Especially on a 95 car, you'll notice the dif.

I also take each of the vacuum hoses off where its plugged into, and cut off 1/2 inch off the tip, and then put it back on. Up under the dash for the a/c hoses too. For old hoses that have been around heat and stuff, they get hard and lose grip on the teat - it makes the car run better usually.
