Timing belt, belts and water pump done

Well i got the timing belt, the 3 other belts and the water pump changed in the pathfinder. Overall i think i spent like 280 bux, parts 149 and labor 145 bux. THe timing belt looked brand spanking new, the other belts were all cracked and ready to go any minute. The water pump i was glad i changed as it had sign of failure or was about to go bad....

Now i looked under the truck and can see the front axles boots are torn.....how hard would this be a project, i've done it before on my escort, but since this is a 4x4 is it much harder?

Thanx.

I don't think the boots will any harder than your old escort. Just make sure you have some good jack stands to be safe.

Torn Boots on Front CV joints

If the boots have been torn long, it is most likely too late to save the CV joints. Get new half shafts. You might be able to put new boots back on put in a good lube and get some mileage out of them. Most of my experience from torn boots is grit and dust have already eaten at the joint surfaces and they will fail soon under use. My two cents. Good Luck - Littlefish

Since the CV's don't spin in 2WD, (for 87-95 WD21's) so they usually end up being OK to rebuild or re-boot.
