Front center AC vents, no air flow

Here is another one of those weird AC vents experience.
AC, all front vents and modes working fine. On the road around evening time and the 2 center front AC vents, no air flow. I started to play with the modes and anything to get the 2 center vents to blow air. Nothing. I thought maybe something was stuck that would cause blockage. The side vents work fine, it was just the 2 center vents.
I called the dealer to ask for advise over the phone, of course their answer is to bring it in.
9 hours later, which was early morning, the vents worked. Air flow was fine. I played with all the modes to make sure all vents were blowing.
I will monitor to see if it acts up again.
Where would I start looking to see if there is blockage to the vents in the engine bay area?
Has anyone had this happen to them?
Thanks.

since they are controlled by vacuum hoses, you would have to check that they aren't splitting or something like that. Or it's the control module giving in. I don't think it's a blockage since it works sometimes but not others.

Pathfinder do not use vaccum to control air mix doors.. there is a motor that moves the lever to change air door position. Get a factory manual, and there is a procedure for diagnosys by pressing the a/c control module buttons in certain manner to start the diagnosys. My 2001 manual has it, but dont know about 2005 though..

My bad, I was thinking about how it worked in my old grand cherokee. I don't have the manual with me to check.
