I just completed and engine swap in my 97 Pathfinder 4x4. Its all together, but won't turn over. It just goes click. It's taken me 3 days to complete solo. I checked the starter, its fine. What could I have done wrong? I really don' t want to rip it apart again, but its better than paying $1500. Any suggestions?

Checked the battery? It's gone "click" on me when my battery was pretty much dead.

Yeah, tried that too, battery is dead. I used my wife's car for power, still just a click.

Check your ground connection. If the cable is corroded, it will not turn over. My old jeep did that and once I replaced the cable, it was all better.

Ok, I pulled everything apart and re-seated the engine and tranny. She starts, but will not shift into any gear. Gear shift moves easily, but transmission will not engage. She does recognize "PARK". It the only position that works. Any ideas.....anyone?

Did you check to see if it's in 2hi and not in neutral?

Yep, checked that too. Still won't catch in any gear.
