06 Navigation System Question

We are looking at the Pathfinder... however, there are no dealers anywhere near me that have the navigation system included. It makes it difficult to test drive and see how it works.

Our other vehicle is a Lexus RX350 and we love the nav. Its a very large screen that has real crisp video display. The nav screen is not cluttered by "other info" but can be changed as needed.

In the brochures I have seen it appears the pathfinders nav system has its lower portion taken up by air conditioning information. Is this permanent? The nav display also looks like it has fairly poor display resolution.

Any info anyone could give on this would be helpful. I hope that when the 07 models come out a dealer near me will have one available to try. Nissan could lose a sale because of this.

I'll have to check when I get home, but I believe you can turn off the A/C or radio display.
I find the screen to be very clear, its the same system that's in my 06 FX35.

By default the NAV is in flat mode...you can change it to birds eye and it is 3D looking and very detailed..... IMO

The 07 Pathfinders should be out in November. They've started production on next year's model since July. If anyone is sorta thinking of getting a 07 Pathfinder later in the year, do it before the end of May as they'll still be making them. As far as they know, no new changes to really mention. After that (June), it's on to the 08's.

I know all of this because I was too late buying a white 06 Pathfinder SE w/Premium Package 4x4. There are no new models across Canada and apparently I was a week too late getting my hands on one.
