95 Pathfinder

Hi all, I'm a new Pathfinder owner, just purchased a 95 last Thursday. I've been reading the Nissan Forum for a couple weeks and that helped me know what to look for when checking it out.

Sure enough, there is some rust thru under the rear passengers seat, rust bubbles above left rear fender trim and right fender below gas filler door, along with some minor dents and dings. Overall, the body and frame are solid with no structural issues. Mechanically, the truck is sound, the AT shifts smoothly, the 4WD shifts without drama and 4WD sounds quiet in hi and lo. The exhaust and cat seem solid but there is a rumble from the manifold.

The truck has a class 2 hitch which I assume is factory, and a second radiator, which I assume is for the transmission. I plan on using the truck for winter driving here in upstate New York and towing my boat which weighs about 2000 lbs with the trailer.

I did not get an owners manual so I'm experimenting on a few things like the E-AT button. I read on another post this is a power/normal mode switch for the trans,Also the fog lights don't come on with the headlamps. I pulled out a bulb and it tested good (12 volts from the battery lit it up). Any suggestions here?

The "second radiator" is the AC condenser. None of the 87-95's came with an external transmission cooler, which you should get right away. The stock coolers clog up and kill transmissions over time. Bypass the stock one and only use an external one.

Check your fog light fuse, should be near the battery. The fog light relay should be on the pass. side firewall near the hood hinge. Trace wires from there if you can't find the fuse easily.
