Grinding noise when braking???

first post here, heh, heard it was a good place for some help.
Well I have a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder SE with about 180k miles on it. Just recently during the past few weeks i began to notice that as i brake and come to a complete stop that my car makes a grinding noise towards the front of the vehicle. I know the break pads are fine b/c i just installed new ones and i checked the rotors and there fine as well. The grinding noise starts to happen when im almost to a complete stop. i dont ALWAYS hear the noise, sometimes i dont get any noise when braking, other times i do...any ideas here?? other question i had was about replacing the factor speakers, i just installed some new 5 x 7's in the front and i noticed that its practically impossible to install them without drilling new holes into the panel so instead i settled to only put 2 screws in on the top of the speakers to hold them in, is that the only way to do it?? and how are the back ones, same way?? b/c i havent taken them off either. thanx for the help guys.

I'd take the pads right out and spray them with brake cleaner. Give the 4 discs a good spray too. maybe a or some small pebbles imbedded in the pads.

ill go ahead and try that, the noise seems to be coming more specifically from the middle front area, but i also heard that it might be my differentials..but i changed the oil on that and it still made the noise, so ill go ahead and try the cleaning and do a complete look over the rotors and pads.

Yea recheck your brake work. If not, how about loose wheel bearing (worn).

i will definately check my brakes again in the next couple days, kinda makes sense that it would be the breaks now that i think about it b/c i actually started to notice the grinding noise once i changed my brake pads
