Broken torsion bar?

i just picked up a 1990 pathfinder for about $900, with 80k on it, one problem tho, its leaning down in the front driverside, the previous owner said he went up a hill and the shock broke, i think it might be something more, i took the shock out and it was broken, fully compressed and wouldnt spring back, but i took a look at the torison bar and the adjusting bolts are loose with about a few inchs of slack, i tighten them back up all the way, through the tire back on without the shock and it still leaned, just seeing for ha has, just wondering if anyone else has come across this problem or would know the solution

did you check for a bent control arm? is the wheel leaning, like excessive camber or anything wierd?

nothing is bent and the camber is fine, it looks like the torsion bar slipped, but i cant seem to get it back to normal ride height, it just goes limp

The shock broke probably because the torsion bar released and it slamed down on it.
Either the anchor on the frame or the “wishbone” or control arm or the bar it self released (broke).
