new to this, got a question...

this is my first suv, and more importantly, my first 4x4... its a 1990 pathfinder se-v6, automatic, 179k on the clock... is there anything wrong with driving around in 4H? i like the way it feels accelerating a bit better, and the way it feels when taking turns, but i don't want to do it if there are any adverse effects besides regular wear and tear... also, would you guys recommend switching to manual lockers instead of the automatic ones? i've also been told that the rear shocks and springs can be switched for F150 ones and achieve 3" or so of lift, has anyone done this? if so, what year f150 shocks and springs? i'm gonna wind up doing intake and exhaust on this thing, been reading the project pathfinder thing from that sticky thread, and seems like its what mine needs lol, the gas mileage is so abysmal.

Yes the differential will not let the tires spin at different rates as you go around corners on black top or concrete , this will cause drive train bind and cause major damage.

It is ok on any surface that will allow the tires to slip , like a gravel road for instance .
