Lifter Issue

1995 Pathy, Ticking lifters for about 6 months now..It's getting really aggravating. I'm a senior in high school and it's kind embarrassing. I'd never be ashamed of my Pathy, but I'd like to have it fixed. I attend a Tech school and have access to almost any tool there is.. I was wondering if this is just a simple case of removing the valve cover and camshaft and valves and setting the new lifters back into place, or will i have to remove the heads?..Is there any other method to fix these?..Thanx...Peace
