Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade the Navigation hardware in a 2005 Pathy to the 2006+ version? As you may know, there was a big leap forward in the user interface and functionality from 05 to 06. Thanks in advance!

I haven't seen the 06 interface, but perhaps its just a firmware update. BMWs routinely update the firmware to add/improve functionality. I must've updated my NAV in my BMW 4 times so far. What new features have you noticed with the 06?

Just received an e-mail from Zenrin. The 6.4 map update (due in Nov 06) WILL have the firmware update. Nice!

Hell yes! Thanks for the update...good to see Zenrin is doing their part to keep systems current and consistent across model years. If you get any more details please share.

Actually it was the 6.5 update. It did come with a firmware update CD, but I don't notice any differences. The two most annoying things that still weren't fixed are:

1) The warning screen that comes on with the vehicle. OK, got it that we have to have it. But, if you put your key in to listen to the radio...you get the screen. Now, turn on the vehicle and you get it again. It gets annoying to keep accepting the agreement. BMW's warning screen goes away after 5 seconds.

2) Not having the ability to enter a destination if you're driving. You know a passenger could do this...right?
