Angry Car Wash Horror!!!

First time posting thread here, long time follower. I have gotten a lot of good information from the group here... Just wanted to share my little horre story with ya'll

So...Brought my truck into the car wash on Jericho Turpike in Syossett NY ( the one with the Mobil station...). All my coworkers raved about the job they do. I normally dont go to car washes, but I was working and figured why not get it clean during my lunch hour. Take to truck there, roll up, tell the guy Full service wash, Close the sunroof and windows and hop out. Now mind you I would normally watch the truck as it goes through while it is getting washed. But today I figured the sun was out for brief time I could sit outside and wait..... Well 25 minutes later my truck is still not out!! Now I dont know about ya'll but I aint never seen a car wash that takes 25 minutes... So I go to get up and out rolls my truck to where they finish drying, windows..etc... Well they out there for another 15 minutes. getting in all the crevices, windows... I'm thinking these guys are doing a great job... He calls me over, I hand him the ticket and the tip ( Mind you I tipped well due to the "Detail" they were putting in) Hop in, pull out and go to put on my seatbelt and its all wet.... then I notice my DVD's and CD's are on the passenger seat, not in the door pocket where they were and they are soaked!!!!! As I'm nearing the light I can feel my ass and back getting wet!!! WTF!!!!! I haul over to the nearest parking lot and hop out and guess what the F!!@##

Apparently they managed to have a window or two open because everying has water coming out of it. the seatbelts are soaked, my seat, the carpets. There is water coming out of the door covers, in the center console. The back seat leather and dash have stains all over from the soap and everything!! Now I know why it took so long to get my car out from the wash part, they were trying to dry it all up. Now my windows were all up when I got back in the car!! Gee I wonder how if my windows are all up the inerior of my car got all the FCK wet?!!! After closer inspection I have water in the center console, in the ash tray, and my below the seat DVD player is full of water.... OH I am so FC#k'n mad, I drive right back and as I pull up all of the guys working are all looking and stop what they are doin. (Cuz the FC 'ers knew what they did and tried to cover up) The owner is lucky I didn't tear his 50 year old head off. He tried to play it off and wanted me to leave my car with him overnight so his guys to "make this right" and detail the whole interior..

Pictures of the aftermath below, 45 minutes after the interior bath...

Those bolt on your seat look kinda painfull. Anyhow, did they "make right". Something like that is almost like flood damage (except with clean water). Whatever you do, do not accept free car washes for a year (from them). Get a receipt for it being there overnight (proof they took responsibility & tried to fix it.). Then if you not happy, take more pictures, take it to a shop to finish cleaning it/fixing it. Replace your items & keep a log of time & receipts. present this to the owner (copies) and if he does not pay tell hime you are going to small claims. File small claims & report him to BBB.

Good luck

daamn dude. im actually in the area and ive used that car wash before. my experience was no where near as bad, but id rather go somewhere else. when i went there i paid $25 for the whole thing whatever. they didnt do a good job drying my car, and the next day i noticed water spots. if you want a good car wash in the same area, try the one on woodbury road near shop rite. they do a very good job, and decent price. i don;t know where seldon is, but there is a hand car wash on old country road near newbridge road if you'd want to try that out.

Yep, I'd follow Xeno's advice to the letter if it happened to me. The fact that they didn't mention there was a problem when you paid up doesn't bode very well for an honest outcome so keep track of everything. If it works or not, be sure to replace the DVD player as water in there will no doubt cause problems down the line.

Sad to hear the world's full of such dishonest jerks.

All the power to you in getting what you're owed. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
