Battery life for 02 path?

Howdy Path lovers

I own a 02 pathy and this morning it didn't start at all, after some check, Called CAA to tow to the nearest garage...CAA guy came and said it could be the battery, (I checked the horn, radio earlier so I didn't go in that route, I was thinking more on the starter motor...), but CAA guy said in a 12V batter even it has 10, 11V path won't start...Anyways,
After a boost, the path started and I bought a new battery and looks like
its ok now...
My question is what is the battery life for a path? 4 years?
In my case the battery has to be replaced with in 4 yrs...I didn't take the chance of driving knowing that I might run into the starting issue, so I replaced the battery...what are your thoughts?

Most new car / truck batteries are only good for 3-4 years. Anything more is a gift. You were due for a change.

It all depends on the cold crank amps it produces. The higher the crank amps are the more likely it'll die on you sooner. I bought a Sears Die Hard battery with 600 cold crank amps and it only lasted me 2 years. So, went back thinking defective battery, got a replacement and it died on me 3 years later.

Ended up buying a battery with a green eye, that way if the green changes to another colour, the battery is done, or is about to be.

Do realize they put cheep batteries in vehicles.

Example: Put a $20 battery in they truck instead of a $40 battery. Sell 1 million trucks, save 20 million dollars. It just has to last the warranty time.
Due to my experiences in the last 13 years, it is only the Optima battery for me.

Ditto

Had to replace the battery in my 03 about two weeks ago. Some batteries last longer, but most will go 3-5 years tops.

Thanx for the comments folks!
After changing the Battery I haven't run into the starting issue so far(knock on wood)
(I think I'll have to wait few more days to eliminate the theory whether this was caused by an alternator issue)
