Part number for Rancho Shocks
I have a '98 Pathfinder SE and I am planning on upgrading to Rancho RS9000X Shocks and RSX Struts. The problem is that Rancho does not have an application for the RS9000X shocks on '98 Pathfinders.
Does anyone know the part number to use for the RS9000X rear shocks? I have heard of people installing the RS99116 in unlifted pathfinders, but looking at the Rancho specs it seems to be shorter than the recommended RSX model (23.75" vs. 24.25") and has less travel (8.75" vs. 9.125"). I have found in these and other forums that there is another model that can be used on lifted Pathfinders, part number RS99010, which is longer (26") and has more travel (9.875”).
Since I am thinking about a 1-2" lift in the future, I am wondering if I can upgrade directly to the longer shock? The longer shock is about 1" inch longer than the recommended RXS model when fully compressed (15.125" vs. 16.125"). Will this be a problem?
Also, I see that the mounts in the recommended RSX shocks are different from the RS9000X shocks listed above (L1/L1 vs. LS74/LS52). Do I need any type of adaptor to make the RS9000X work on my car? I live in Panama, and this is my daily driver. Since I plan on buying the shocks and getting them installed locally, I need to gather as much info as possible and get all the parts ahead of time.
