Help! 97' Pathy 3.3 water pump question

I am told by my mechanic that my water pump is failing. How difficult is the water pump installation and can I replace it without disturbing the timing belt? (the timing belt only has 35K miles on it). I am excellent with mechanics but never had to change the water pump on the 3.3 liter. If I can replace the thermo stat and water pump at home without fooling with the timing belt i will be please. Let me know

The t-belt has to be removed cause it can't get wet, especially by coolant. The water pump sits below the t-stat and once you remove both, LOTS of coolant will spill out onto the t-belt and that's a BIG NO NO...
This is why at the dealership I work at, we sell a T-belt Package:
Consists of water pump, t-belt, tensionor, t-stat, cam seals, crank seal, drive belts and lastly...Nissan coolant.
