Currently I have been running 255 70 r16 Yokohama Geolander AT +2 tires on my 01 Pathy. I only got 30-32 thousand miles on those and now I need new ones. Stock size is 255 65 r16 and I was wondering if anyone new how big I could go on a stock wheel/clearence? What tires do y'all like? Right now I'm looking at 255 70 r16 Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos or the same size in the BF Goodrich All Terrain KO's but those are so expensive. I like an aggresive tread of the occasional off-road, but I want something that will last a while so I'm staying away from the mudders. Any suggestions?

I purchased the Goodyear Fortera tires for my '02 SE a few months ago (@ ~69k miles) and I am pretty happy with them (Goodyear beat the tirerack price w/o shipping). I think my milage went up 1 or 2 from the stock Michilin Cross Terrains which were "Mud/Snow tires".
Good Luck
P.S. Get the road hazard insurance, its with the extra $12-16/tire - I hit something that popped a tire within 48hr of purchasing them and had to pay nearly full pricehttp://www.nissanforums.com/images/smilies/mad.gif
The last tires I purchased for my 01 laster 115,000km or 70k miles. Toyo Open Country A/T. 255/70/R16. I was quite happy with them so I bought another set last month. I bought the Open Country H/T this time 'round though. Same size as before. The H/T have a more agressive tread than the A/T did.
Michelin LTX M/S...same size as the stock, unless you your truck to look more like an off-road type then i will go for the 255 65 R16..Michelin tires are very quiet on the road.

I have the Dueler Revos in 255/70. I like them. I have to really try to get them to break loose in the rain, and they worked well in the snow. Getting decent wear and milegae so far (about 6K on them so far).
I believe the largest you can go stock is 265/70 and tyhqat puts you very close to the strut.

Check out TireRack.com and the comments & user reviews... they are always better than the tire manufacturer's marketing department. Also compare the ratings to what conditions you drive in (i.e. Floridians probably worry less about snow handlling where as I am in upstate NY and need a good snow handling)
i have had the michelin ltx m&s for the last 100k miles or so... the ltxs hydroplane more than i like, and they arent as great in the winter as id like. they are a good tire, but i think the next set will be bridgestone revos.. according to the reviews they are better than the ltxs in every spot except they wear a little faster.. but i think its worth it for more traction all around, with a little more wear..
Another happy Michelin LTX customer. Got a good deal from Costco.
I got my Cross Terrain's from costco and i really like them: silent, great ride, great handling, and a nice look. I wish I had gotten the white letter version though, because my truck is white and it probably would've looked good
