Hello all,

I have a 2002 Pathfinder LE which has been a great car up until now. It has recently developed some sort of engine noise that is a cross between valve noise and an exhaust leak. I popped the hood today and noticed the engine has a noise similar to engine knocking. The CEL has never come on. Every once in a while it will take 2 tries to start, but that maybe a result of a weak battery.

I used to have a maxima that had some similar symptoms and turned out to be a knock sensory which was not throwing any codes or faults.

Any of you guys have the same symptoms before?
