Hi there,

I've got a 1996 2.7TDi Terrano/Pathfinder and it suffers from what feels like a power surge under 2,000rpm under load. The problem varies under the same set of conditions. This can occur under extremely light load such as travelling on a flat road at 80kph, or going uphill where it is more pronouced. It feels as though its labouring a bit but the problem is unique to this example, as I have driven others without the problem. This seems to me a very un-diesel characteristic.

Has anybody heard of this before, we've had the automatic serviced and there is no problem reported by nissan for this. I would be very grateful for some feedback.

Hi,
sorry cant help but can sympathize! My 96 2.7Tdi does the same thing, if it was a petrol you would think it was "missing" on the spark side but being a diesel I do not know whats causing it.
I drained the fuel filter for any water but made no difference.
Could be injectors? but I have only done 80K kms and they should last longer than that.
I ran some injector cleaner through the system but no help.
