Problem starting 1999.5 Pathfinder LE

I have a problem in starting my Pathfinder. Once in awhile I will try to the start the car but it will just keep turning over and over. I will try again after a few seconds and the problem persists.

When I wait about 20-60 minutes the car will start. I have tried changing the fuel filter and that had seemed to work but the problem has come back after 2.5 weeks. I have also tried switching to premium gas after using regular gas. It also seemed to have to helped but it is not working anymore.

I went a step further and replaced the spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. This also did not fix the problem. I have a check engine light on and it is telling me to replace the air temperature sensor. Could this be the problem? I don't want to keep playing the guessing game anymore. Has anyone has a similar problem in starting their car?

I used to own a 99.5 path,, i had problems b4 with hard starting,,so far the only thing i've done is to replace the battery, its about the cranking amps, i don't know why but it seem to solve the problem,,just traded it to 2006 honda civic due to high fuel cost. otherwise it is an excellent truck, 140K on the clock, i use castrol synthetic oil due to high mileage...

Hmm thats for the input. I will definitely check that out. I was reading on here about ecu and sensor problems. Just wondering if it is worth it to go to nissan for that?

Engine rotates but will not start. Found few of these troubleshooting guide. Good luck.

1. Battery terminal connections loose or corroded.
2. Leaking fuel injector(s), faulty fuel pump, pressure regulator.
3. Fuel not reaching fuel rail.
4. Ignition components damp or damaged.
5. Broken, loose or disconnected wires at the ignition coil or faulty coil.
6. Broken or stripped timing belt.
7. Defective fuel pump relay and/or harness at relay

Have you tried changing the fuel filter again? Did it work and problem has comeback? If yes, then i would look at the fuel tank, might be rusted or too many debrised.
