HID Bulb question

I recently installed a pair of Halo HID Xenon bulbs (90w low beam 160w high beam) in my '03 Pathfinder. I also installed 100w Xenon HID fog bulbs. The difference, when compared to the original lights are night and day, My night time visibility is markedly increased. I am however concerned about the possible effects of using such increased wattage; should I do do any upgrades in the wiring, or add any relays to protect my electrical system from any potential damage? Or is everything okay? Any and all responses, assistance and criticisms appreciated.

Yes, just like the package warned you about. Your bulbs are pulling more wattage than the wiring was laid for (2x+). It may last for a few. But eventually will melt down.

on top of melting...your bulbs will burn out much sooner. Personally, I'd shell out the cash and get true HIDs. They only run about $350 and after you've killed 2 or 3 sets of your "xenon" bulbs, rewired everything, you've already spend close to that. Just my .02cents.

Why do you need such bright lights for anyway? You blind the people in front of you at night.

I installed the MTEC 2x Cosmos 9007 and H11 bulbs on my Pathy...and they look great!! Alot better than the stock/OEM Sylvania/OSRAM's that were there....installation was a breeze......no worries on the wattage as it's not pulling any additional juice than before.....was seriously looking into the HIDS but after reading other forums and threads....it seems it doesn't make the lights much brighter....again..this is just what I've read as I've not personally seen HIDS on any Pathfinders around here so far.......

If you look on the connector there is a clip you have to depress to remove the bulb...applies to both the headlight and fog light.....if your talking about remove the bulb from the housing you just turn the whole piece counter clockwise a quarter turn to remove the bulb and connector.........hope that made sense.....

In response to your question, I live on Mount Baldy in California. The road to my home is Dark and winding with many blind corners and undulating curves. Plus, I have to contend with people who race up and down the mountain for precisely those reasons. I cannot count the times that those damn racers almost kill my wife and myself. I need the extra light to increase my visibility.

Personally, I went for an HID conversion, for the same reasons you are looking to upgrade. Anyway, here you go:
