How much oil is typically lost after 4000 miles

I use to have a Nissan Maxima and I would never seem to burn any oil. My 2002 seems to burn more. Maybe I am just not use to it. I could probably add half a quart to level it off to full after 3000-4000 miles of an oil change. (Bascially when I change the oil) I just ask because usually if your engine burns any oil, that is not good, that is my understanding.

The manual says to expect to lose some oil but I didn't know if it was that much. How much oil do others lose. I have a USA Nissan Pathfinder 2003 LE

1/2 quart isn't bad between changes. If you don't have any viable leaks, don't let it bother you. If it is burning oil, it is less than 0.0053 oz. per mile. That won't even show up on an emissions test and it certainly wouldn't do any harm to the engine.

How many miles do you have on yours?

I have an 02 SE pathy that is about to turn 99K. I get an oil change every 3000. When I'm due for a change, I'm usually down 1/2 - 3/4 of a quart.

I've got a 95 SE with over 154,000km and doesn't seem to burn any oil at all. After bout 3000km, I'd check the level and seems the same since I fill it.
