service intervals - follow or don't follow?

I don't drive my 05 Pathfinder that much. its only 7 months and I have only 5400 miles on it. did my first oil change back when it was like 3000 or so.
do you think I should still follow the service intervals of miles and/or months(whichever comes first) and have my SUV serviced?
what do you all think? follow or do what I think needs to be serviced when I want?

I'd get it serviced when the miles/months is up. The Pathfinder is still new, why abuse it?

If you plan on doing on what needs to be done, I'd suggest, I'm sure you know, take it to the dealer for a full service just before your warranty is up.
