Exhausts and Intakes

if i did an exhaust and intake setup on my 01, would i notice any major difference in fuel economy? in theory i would because the engine doesn't have to work as hard

yes, unless the exhaust and intake are improperly sized.. but most gains will be offset by a new desire to keep your foot down longer..

what do you mean by improperly sized? I was going to keep the same plumbing, put a magnaflow cat and flowmaster 50 series SUV muffler on there with a 2.75 in. tailpipe

I think he assumed you were gonna redo the entire exhaust from manifold/header to tailpipe.

What you're planning to do is fine, should give you a little more power and the engine will breathe a little easier. Should also sound pretty damn good!

i will do same setup to my pathfinder. I am planning to modify the exahust by separating the banks of cylinders to two parts. 3 for each side. there will be mufflers in the end for both sides.

i dont think i will need a cold air intake. but i may replace the air filter with a better one, such as KN.
