The fast idle plunger housing is part of the throttle body. The plunger is thermostatically controlled by the coolant temperature. Cold coolant makes the idle faster and the warmer it gets the lower the RPM's. This is on the 1998 PF SE 4X4 , with the 3.3 litre engine.
