Reset computer

Hi how is everyone (I hope good). I was wondering if anyone new how to reset the computer (98 pathfinder 3.3L). The computer was throwing the knock sensor signal causing my maintenance light to go off. I tried using 91 octane to get it to shut off. Any suggestions.

First, welcome.
You should be able to go to Autozone and get it reset. I believe there are other ways, but none as easy.

The knock sensor won't trigger the CEL so some other error did that. You can also clear the codes with the diagnostic mode selector screw on the ECU, very easy to use. But if the error no longer exists the CEL will go out on its own so there is no reason to clear it.

ive had to reset my ecu by hand, its far from easy, its a pain in the ass. You have to squeeze into the gas/brake/clutch area, reach your arm all the way up above the ECU, break the clear seal over the screw, fit a screw driver (note it cant be longer then your thumb, or it wont fit) above the ecu, turn it... it should give you your code, (the SES light will blink) then turn it again to turn it off. Best to have a second person watch the light while your cramed under there. It should all be in your manual how to do it.

Agreed, go to AZ and they'll tell you what the code is or go to a dealership.
