help!!!! trans dont shift 90 pathfinder 4x4

after the second trans. it must be somthing else.it will shift manually fine with a little hesitation.every gear is there,but it will not shift on its own. any suggestions???????????????

Not sure if it's an automatic, from your post. If it is, my understanding is that the actual cause of the failure of automatics in the early PF's was the transmission oil cooler in the rad plugging up, which then killed the transmission by overheating. So obviously if the cooler isn't fixed, the problem will happen again.

If you have a manual transmission, I have no idea what's wrong, but whatever it is, it's rare.

Broken/disconnected/maladjusted kickdown cable/linkage?

yes it is an automatic , and when i changed the trans I put a new cooler on it. it did not shift, I put another trans in & it does same thing.

once you get it to overdrive it will kickdown to drive and back up, but kickdown from drive goes to nuetral i think.
