Angry Any reason you couldn't use a generic wiring harness for the OEM Hitch

I ask this because I am told now by the shop that I need two different parts for the wiring harness and it is going to cost $140 just for that. That on top of a $299 Hitch seems silly.

I'm actually now leaning toward the Reese (Professional) as they call it hitch but I am not sure why it is considered professtional.

The OEM seems to be constructed a little better under the car. At least more places to screw into and seems to go farther back to the axel as well.

I'm confused. I have never heard one complaint from aftermarket either.

Anyway, it seems like I should be able to get a generic wiring harness for $30 instead of paying for Nissans bag of wires
