Newbie here, looking for warranty advice

[color=Navy][font=Comic Sans MS] I have a question about extended warranties.
I recently purchased a 02 Pathfiner SE with 46k. I've been looking into buying an extended warranty. I've narrowed it down to Continental Warranty co. Has anyone ever delt with them or know someone who has?

Never dealt with them, but be advised that extended warranties on used vehicles most of the time does not cover gaskets and seals and sometimes have pretty hefty deductibles too.

Hi,

At 46K miles you still have the Nissan warranty right? I have an 02 Pathfinder with 94K miles. I have Nissan's extended warranty (100K) but it only covers "mechanical failure" and then only if the vehicle has been properly maintained which makes sense. Read your warranty info closely to see if it only covers "MF". If it does, make sure you have the maintenance records for the first 46K so you can prove it has been properly maintained.

FWIW, none of the repairs that I have had since the extended warranty kicked in were actually covered by the warranty.

I believe I'm still covered under the factory drive train warranty(5yrs\60k). I still need to dig a little deeper and get in touch with the closest dealer to see if they can get any records. I asked the warranty company about maint. records since I bougth the car used and was told I would only needs to have the records from the day I purchased the car. And since I bought it with under 50k it is considered to be a new car to them {won't argue them on that :^)}.
