94 pathfinder dashlights and rear tail lights just went out

I have a 1994 pathfinder and this evening on my way home the dash lights went completly out. I pulled over at the next gas station and someone followed me in to tell I had no tail lights. I looked at the fuses but nothing is listed as "tail lights or dash" and I haven't pulled every fuse yet to check them.

Does anyone know what fuse it would be? Also could it be something else like a relay? I'm not even sure if I'm looking in the right place. Is there also any fuses in the engine compartment. Any help would be great, I need to get my lights back on before tomorrow night.

Thanks

The funny part is that the one fuse that went are ONLY for the backup lighit and nothinge else.

More than likely, it's the switch in the steering column.

I agree, but the fuses should be labeled: stop, tail, turn and instu cluster.

Thanks guys,

All the fuses check out fine, so It looks like it may be the switch in the steering column. Do you have to pull the steering wheel to replace this switch, or is it an easy fix. Thanks.

This happened on ours a long time ago, and it turned out to be the glove compartment light had a short. But we were blowing fuses. Inserting a 30A fuse revealed where the problem was. Even after replacing the melted glove compartment light, eventually I had to run new wiring for it.

Deffinately sounds like the fuse. Mine did the same thing last week because of a shorted out trailer harness. Replaced the blown fuse and that fixed it.
