Angry 99 Pathfinder rear end sway

This problem literally came out of no where. While traveling on the interstate recently at approx. 65mph I was in a ascending right curve and encountered some minor dips in the roadway. This resulted in some very uncomfortable body swaying movements seemingly originating in the rear end. It would only occur at speeds above 50mph and in a right or left curve. I have thus far replaced the front struts and rear shocks and replaced the tires with new Michlein Cross Terrains. After accomplishing all of this we ventured out and found that when I accelerated the front end seemed to veer to the left and deceleration caused it to veer right. I have had several mechanics look at the vehicle when I suspected the rear suspension bushings, however, they both said that they can not see anything worn out. Anyone have any thoughts???????

Definitely sounds like the bushings and is a very common problem with the pathfinders. Did they check the upper links also?

Both mechanics swear they visually inspected them, however, I am beginning to wonder if a visual inspection is good enough. It seems to me that the links need to be dropped to really inspect them.

I have the same issue with my Pathy... would you recommend getting rear trailer arms for the not-so-mechanically inclined? Thanks!

They're "trailing arms" or "control arms". Simple unbolt-and-rebolt operation...
