canister close to spare tire under car

i learned form nissan service, they told me that sensor which is to report the air inside gas tank is borken. what is that one for? it is located at back, under car at the driver side close to bumper over differential.it was the fault which cause the check engine soon light. It is evaporation sensor error. Now i learned that 3 under hood and 2 at back there are 5 evaporation sensors in pathfinder.. damn, what is an evaporation sensor? new one costs 400 USD !!!

i think i can remove the that bulb which is behind check engine message can you believe a simple 3 USD worth bulb can save the day? actually car is running smooth and there is no evident problem. just evaporation sensor error.

coments?

Here in the States, removing the bulb does no good; at inspection, they plug in and check the vehicle for codes and it must be clear. Light or no light. I don't understand the EVAP system very well, but it seems to be a common PF problem. I'm sure others will post with help. How about a salvage (junkyard) canister?

Sounds like the EVAP pressure sensor which is near the canister. The rest of the sensors they are talking about are different EVAP valves. Can't find a part# for that sensor, you might try going to www.everythingnissan.com and ask if they sell it. Should be quite a bit less than $400 but the real question is will they ship it to you in Turkey.

i dont think that i can draw that part even they are able to send it. customs problems...

here, they do not check for codes, they measures the emissions, overal performance of engine and mechanical details. so check engine light is no problem.

i need to go junkyard. but will this cause a problem on engine?

Only in states that do vehicle inspections. (Which are only a small number of states in the USA.) Sorry your state makes you go through that hassle!

I don't see why they wouldn't ship to Turkey. I think payment would be the bigger issue...if he could pay using a Visa from a US bank...probably no big deal.
