Im having an issue in which the alarm on my 97 Pathfinder goes off randomly and for no apparent reason. I had a new battery installed about two months ago, and this was about the same time the problem started occuring.
I imagine the problem stems from some cicruit short somewhere, which I also imagine could be pricy or a pain to fix.
Is there an easy way, pull a fuse perhaps, to just "turn off" the alarm? I live in a safe neighborhood and with that would rather have no alarm then one that goes off spordically. I dont not have my owners manual, so I cant be confident on my own which fuse to pull.

.Thanks for any help/
I read about this in a while back, people were having problems with the alarm going off in the middle of the night, it turned out to be the sensor on the door needed to be cleaned, so i would suggest trying that.
I'm having the same problem.... I replaced the signal flasher unit today with a none napa one... I need to disable this freaking alarm, it has gone off twice on me since I replaced it earlier today. Downloading htr wemanual, if you know p[lease just say so!

Tried a lot of searches and only found the thread about resetting the immobilizer, so....
OKAY, I need to disable my alarm completely. I replaced my signal flasher unit today with a none Nissan one, (1/5th the cost) and my alarm has been gone off on its own (factory system) twice at random times, several hours later. I"m going to go outside and see if there is a fuse to pull, but please post something if you have any ideas. This is brutal!
Manual only saus how to arm the alarm and how to disarm it. You can't disable it. Maybe if the doors were left unlocked, but this this is possessed. I'm going to pull a fuse if i can find it....
Thoughts... My hood wasn't latched down all the way, so that was probably setting it off, since it's storming outside right now (4am...). I couldn't find any alarm/security relay or fuses, so i pulled the horn relay AND fuse, then set off the alarm. At least its quiet now if it does go off....
Could my NAPA blinker switch cause this, or was it probably just the hood? Everything seems to work otherwise.
Probably just the hood. Why don't you close the hood and see what happens?
