Hi everyone,
quick question about my pathy. First off I have something that sounds like "tin" rattle underneath at an idle...it is probably a cat cover or heat sheild or something...I can deal with that. This is my other issue...
from a stop if i accelerate I get a click click or like a small clunk clunk that I feel underneath my feet through the floorboard. I can make it happen by shifting from reverse, into drive then stepping on the gas...I dont have to step on the gas hard though. Sometimes I can feel it just driving around town without shifting reverse to drive but I just realized that I can make it happen by shifting.
Any thoughts?
Also, does anyone know a good service place in the Hartford CT area?
Thanks for looking
Rod
did you look at you engine mounts? the rattle is most likely a heat shield, crawl underneath the truck and with a bar/screwdriver or anything about a foot long press up on the shields to find which one it is.

ill got a similar sound in my -88, but that is from a short stabilazing "rod" that goses from the lover "a" arm up to the chassie, dont recall what is real name are, but some one else mabye now what it called.
its the rubber bits on the end who are worn out, so the rod toutches the chassie.
Im not shure if this rod is on any newer models or not.

Thats right, im about to change both ones, and the bushings in the rear to.
But first ill have to find a garage that has high enugh doors for my pathy.
Today it has been 27,5 degrees celcius *brrr*, not the ideal wether to be under the car .
